Our levels of care
Care is matched to clinical need at intake, and you move between levels as that need changes rather than starting over somewhere new.
Medically supervised detox
Withdrawal managed in a licensed medical facility with nursing staff available around the clock and medication used where clinically indicated. A typical stay runs three to five days.
Integrated residential treatment
Daily therapy, psychiatric care, and medical oversight in a structured residential setting with 24/7 medical and clinical supervision. Stays often run roughly 30 to 90 days.
IOP, virtual IOP, and aftercare
Group and individual therapy several days a week, in person or by secure telehealth, plus weekly therapy and alumni support as you return to daily life.
Detox alone is stabilization, not treatment. Most people move from detox directly into residential care, and admissions plans that transition at intake rather than treating them as two separate decisions.

Which level of care fits
These levels differ mainly in how much structure they provide and whether you live on site. The right one depends on clinical need, safety, and your home environment.
| Level of care | Where you stay | Typical schedule | Typical length | Best suited for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Medically supervised detox (ASAM 3.7) | On site, 24/7 | Continuous nursing and medical monitoring | Three to five days | Withdrawal that carries medical risk, most often alcohol, benzodiazepines, and opioids |
| Residential (ASAM 3.5) | On site, 24/7 | Full-day structured programming | Roughly 30 to 90 days, individualized | Higher acuity, unsafe home setting, co-occurring needs |
| Intensive outpatient | Live at home | Several days a week | Weeks to months | Stepping down while keeping work, school, or family commitments |
| Virtual intensive outpatient | Live at home | Secure telehealth sessions | Weeks to months | People who cannot travel to the facility |
Length of stay is clinically guided and depends on your progress, needs, and coverage authorization. The ranges above are general and are not a promise of a specific timeline or result.
Who this is for
Foundry Front Range treats adults 18 and over from Denver, Aurora, Lakewood, Westminster, Arvada, Thornton, Boulder, and surrounding communities who need medically supervised withdrawal or residential care, including people covered by Colorado Medicaid.
We treat alcohol, opioids including fentanyl and heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine, benzodiazepines, and prescription medication dependence, along with co-occurring mental health conditions. Gender-specific programming is available, including a dedicated women’s residential track.
We are an inpatient and residential provider. If your clinical need is better met at an outpatient level of care, our admissions team will tell you that during the assessment rather than admitting you to a level you do not need.
Conditions we treat
Co-occurring mental health care
Substance use and mental health conditions are treated in the same program by the same clinical team. A psychiatric provider evaluates you during intake, and psychotropic and addiction medications are managed against your full history rather than in isolation.
Depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and bipolar disorder alongside substance use are common presentations here, and none of them require a separate referral. On-site psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and crisis stabilization are part of residential care, not an add-on.
Trauma-Integrated Care and the Michael Barnes Family Institute
Our Trauma-Integrated Care model, developed by Dr. Michael Barnes, recognizes how often unresolved trauma sits underneath substance use. The Michael Barnes Family Institute runs two-level family programming that helps families understand addiction and rebuild a recovery-supportive home.

Let our team guide you through coverage and next steps
One confidential call confirms what your plan covers and whether our level of care is the right fit. Admissions answers 24 hours a day.
What to expect, from first call to first week
Many people start the same day or within 24 to 48 hours, depending on clinical assessment and bed placement.
- Call or verify coverage. Admissions takes a short, confidential phone intake and requests a verification of benefits from your plan.
- Medical intake and withdrawal assessment. A clinician reviews vitals, medical history, and withdrawal risk. Detox or medication-assisted treatment begins where clinically indicated.
- Psychiatric assessment. A psychiatric provider screens for co-occurring conditions and shapes your treatment plan.
- Admission and orientation. Paperwork, introduction to your care team, the daily schedule, and safety guidelines.
- First-week clinical review. Your multidisciplinary team reviews progress, adjusts medication, and confirms the therapy plan. A family communication plan is set once you sign a release of information.
- Discharge planning. Aftercare planning starts on day one so the step down from residential care is already mapped.
What to bring
Photo identification, your insurance or Medicaid card, a current medication list, and comfortable clothing. Weapons, alcohol, and illicit substances are not permitted.
Privacy
Your information is protected under HIPAA, the federal law covering medical records and personal health information.
Next steps
Insurance and payment
We accept Health First Colorado (Colorado Medicaid) for Regions 1, 2, 3, and 4, and we are in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Multi-Plan, Rocky Mountain Health Plan, and UnitedHealthcare. We can work with most major insurance plans.
With your consent, admissions submits a verification of benefits to your plan and explains what comes back in plain language: what your plan covers, any limits, and what you would be responsible for. Many plans require prior authorization and cover care based on medical necessity.
If a plan denies coverage, our team can help you understand the plan’s appeal process.
Have ready: your Medicaid or insurance ID number, the member’s name and date of birth, the plan name, and any recent authorization or denial letters.
Coverage and clinical fit vary by individual, so admissions confirms both before placement.

What people say
Frequently asked questions
How much does drug rehab cost in Colorado?
It depends on your coverage rather than a list price. For Health First Colorado members in Regions 1 through 4, medically supervised detox and residential treatment are covered benefits subject to medical necessity and prior authorization. For commercial plans, a verification of benefits returns your specific copay, deductible, and coverage limits. Admissions runs that check before you commit to anything.
Does Medicaid cover drug rehab in Colorado?
Yes. Colorado Medicaid covers substance use treatment, including medically supervised withdrawal and residential care, when it is medically necessary. Foundry Front Range accepts Health First Colorado for Regions 1, 2, 3, and 4.
How long is the average stay in drug rehab?
It varies by level of care. Medically supervised detox typically runs three to five days. Residential treatment often runs roughly 30 to 90 days and is individualized to clinical need and progress. Many people move from detox directly into residential care rather than treating them as separate decisions.
How soon can I be admitted?
Many people start the same day or within 24 to 48 hours. Timing depends on a clinical assessment and current placement availability, both of which admissions confirms on the first call.
Is Foundry Front Range in Denver?
We are in Broomfield, roughly 30 minutes from downtown Denver and from Denver International Airport, and we serve adults across the Denver metro area. Treatment happens at our licensed medical facility at 11952 Gray St.
What is the difference between detox and residential treatment?
Detox manages the medical risk of withdrawal and usually takes a few days. Residential treatment is the longer clinical program that follows, combining daily therapy, psychiatric care, and medical oversight. Detox alone is stabilization, not treatment, which is why we plan the transition between them at intake.
Do you treat mental health conditions alongside addiction?
Yes. Depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and bipolar disorder are treated in the same program by the same team, with on-site psychiatric evaluation and medication management.
What should I bring?
Photo identification, your insurance or Medicaid card, a current list of medications, and comfortable clothing. Weapons, alcohol, and illicit substances are not permitted.
