Dual Diagnosis & Co-occurring Conditions

Treating addiction and mental health together.

Substance use disorders and mental health conditions frequently occur together, and treating one without addressing the other can limit recovery. At Foundry Front Range, co-occurring mental health conditions are assessed and treated as part of every level of care, not as a separate or secondary concern.

Our clinical team is equipped to support adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and other conditions alongside substance use. If you or a loved one are managing both, our admissions team can help clarify how our programs are designed to address co-occurring needs.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Addiction Treatment Programs

Here are some questions people also ask about Foundry Front Range addiction treatment programming.

How do I know which program is right for me?

The right level of care depends on a number of clinical factors — including the nature and severity of your substance use, any co-occurring mental health conditions, and your living situation. Our admissions team can help assess clinical fit during the intake process. You can also start with an insurance verification to understand your coverage options before making any decisions.

Does Foundry Front Range accept Medicaid?

Yes. We accept Medicaid for both medically supervised detox and residential treatment — making us one of the few licensed medical facilities in the Denver metro area offering this coverage. Visit our Medicaid rehab page or contact our admissions team to confirm your specific plan and eligibility.

What is the difference between detox and residential treatment?

Detox (ASAM level 3.7) focuses on safely managing withdrawal with 24/7 medical oversight — it’s typically the first phase of treatment for people with physical dependence. Residential treatment (ASAM level 3.5) follows detox and provides structured therapeutic programming in a live-in clinical setting. Many clients transition directly from detox into residential care as part of a continuous treatment plan.

Can I do outpatient treatment if I’m working or have family responsibilities?

Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) is designed for adults who need structured clinical support while continuing to manage daily responsibilities. For those who need even more flexibility, our virtual IOP provides the same level of clinical care via secure telehealth from anywhere in Colorado.

Does Foundry Front Range treat co-occurring mental health conditions?

Yes. Co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, depression, and trauma are assessed and treated throughout our care continuum — not addressed separately. Our clinical team is equipped to provide integrated treatment for adults navigating both substance use and mental health disorders. See what we treat for a full overview.
